Christmas Eve at the Vineyard

I am going to first off start this post with something I really have never been much good at since for one, I am a very proud person, and two I don't like being wrong. So here it goes, I am terrible sorry! I have been MIA for the past few weeks due to many factors here they are (skip if you do not care there is a fashion post amongst this rambling somewhere): 1: No inspiration, nothing has caught my eye to spotlight or write about. I've been in a blah state sort of with all the rush of the holidays. 2: School. Though we have finals after break we had tests in so many of my classes I nearly cried, I just got out on Thursday. It was torturous. 3: No cute outifts. I hate to admit it but I have been dressing lazy nearly everyday. No not cute UGGs and big sweaters lazy but jeans (thank god I have enough class to not wear sweats outside my home, the airport, and the gym otherwise I would have been wearing those too. *Shivers*) over sized faded Texas A&M hoodies and Converse sneakers that have seen better days... MUCH better days. 4: Actually I don't have a four... Hummm need I come up with anymore excuses or will you forgive me already? Pretty please with a cherry (not those nasty maraschino ones but a real one like we grow on the farm) on top? Now on to the blogging.

Just kidding going to run through my day, skip to the "SKIP TO HERE" in pink letters if you really do not care.

My best friend M and I went shopping (she lives at my house practically, I'll come home and she will be making rice, (she a vegetarian so pretty much we live off of rice, pasta, and salad, oh and Chipotle if possible even though I do eat meat) or wrapping presents, or watching TV, but more often than not she will be making tea, usually peppermint or Tazo's Passion one. Actually she was sending out our Christmas cards when I came home from the barn Friday.) We waited till today to do our Christmas shopping. I still need to get her and my other best friend D something, I go after Christmas and hit the sales. I am very stingy.

Her mother then practically threatened her car if she didn't come home after that and spend Christmas eve with her biological family. So I was left alone to suffer, just kidding, we opened half our presents at home since my dad refused to drag them all up the hill to my grandparents where I am now and my parents will be come tomorrow 7:30 am sharp(that means 8). I then came up the hill to the Grandparents itty bitty vineyard. I love my grandparents, they are actually step grandparents but that is a simple technicality. They a bit eccentric in some ways but they are great. My aunt, cousin, and I then played monopoly, watched Christmas Story, drove remote control race cars, and then after much pestering from Aunt T and Grandma my cousin, H, and I hopped into our PJs and brushed our teeth. After he was asleep I had to pull myself back out of bed and go wrap his key board and stand from Santa. That was a jolly good time those things were a pain in the rear to wrap. Then some how I got roped into making a Chocolate cream pie and in the process got my hand caught in a hand mixer. I was fine but Grandma and Granddad had a fit and a half. So now I am finally back in bed and writing this. Now may we let the blogging begin!

Studying in Style

Hi everyone this was a more casual outfit I threw together at last minute. Hope you enjoy!

Sweater: Forever 21, Shirt (plain navy crew neck): Target, Jeans: Vigos, Boots: Uggs, Scarf: Gift

Everyone has a different opinion on Uggs, personally for a casual-comfy-going-to-study outfit I love them. I've had mine three years and wear them a lot, they are still going strong! What do you think? I totally understand they just aren't some folks cup of tea (:

Have a great weekend!

Quick Idea, What do you all think?

So I was going through my closet (tearing is more like it) trying to take inventory of outfits suitable for holiday parties. I'm not sure how many I will be going to or the level of dress. I have sparkly heals and a LBD and the classic black tie look down pat (why I am not sure since the last black tie affair I actually attended was two years ago...) but I realized I don't have much for just smaller or more casual settings. I also realized I down have glitter flats which I am a huge fan of. So my idea is, why don't I glitter my own flats? This could turn out super tacky but I am a master glitterer (seriously I glitter everything, my track spikes included) so maybe I could pull it off. People glitter sneakers all the time right? Have any of you tried this? If so I'd appreciate any feed back (any holiday clothes DIY tips really)! Thanks so much everyone!

Traditions

Christmas is the best time of year in my opinion (If we could have summer vacation in the winter I'd be the happiest girl in the world) and tradition is a huge part of the reason for that. I love traditions it's something to look forward to ever single year. So here are my family's Christmas traditions:

Waterford Tree

We hang our 12 days of Christmas Waterford collection on this smaller fake tree.

Tree Shopping With Dad
I don't have pictures of this but two weekends before Christmas we go out and buy a grand tree just him and myself. This is one of my favorites.

Ornament Shopping

Each year we buy a few new ornaments on my dad's birthday after eating at the same restaurant we do every year. We always go to World Market for some reason. We then choose one to write a story about. It's a great time really. this year we chose the little white glittery bird. Still haven't made the story yet.

Last but not least: Elfie!

This is modeled after the advent calendar. From December 1-Christmas eve I get a small gift each night such as a candle and a candle holder.

What are all your traditions? Have a great week everyone!

BFFs and Birthdays

It seems like I never have anything to do (socially) for long periods of time then all the sudden I have a lot going on at once. Friday I went to the movies with my best friend D and it was such a great time! We saw Life of Pi (holy guacamole it was amazing and mind blowing, D was speechless and trust me, D is NEVER speechless) but before hand we went to Bath and Body and got candles to feed my addiction and then to Panera Bread for dinner. We sadly go to different schools and don't get to see each other as much as we'd like so it was great to be able to chat over some sandwiches and mac'n'cheese. Then yesterday I went to the barn as usual and my other best friend and I went on a trail ride. It started pouring so we came back soaked. We then made sugar cookies and boy were those suckers time consuming. Today my family and I went out to lunch for my daddy's birthday (same place we go every year) and got another ornament.

I mentioned our tradition in my last post about buying a goofy ornament and coming up with a story for it. We buy them from World Market and lately we've been on a bird kick. Last two years we have gotten bird ornaments, maybe we will just stick to the feathered creatures? So this is sort of an OOTD and weekend overview? Once I finish decorating I'll do a decorating DIY post. Sometime this week I'll also do a traditions post. I hope everyone is having a fantastic December. It's the time of forgiveness, love, and positivity.

Oh this is Junior after I rode in the pouring rain Friday. We both hung out under the heaters with some  wool coolers for a while after that ride.
